I like to change my hair A LOT as many of you know! I’ve been platinum blonde, black, had a pixie cut, super long hair, bangs, no bangs… I love the feeling of change!
Although it’s fun, it can also be pretty damaging to my hair. I try to take precautions and really take care of my hair to avoid that, just as I try to take care of the rest of my body.
TIPS ON HEALTHY HAIR:
- Vitamins! I take quite a few vitamins daily, but the one that my hair stylist recommended specifically for strengthening hair (and nails) is Biotin.
- Avoid heat. I try only blow dry and flat iron when necessary, which is usually once a week or every two weeks for me. Let your hair air dry.. It looks pretty natural anyway!
- Relax! Did you know stress can also affect your hair?!
- Don’t wash too much. Let your natural oils do their thing! Along with this, brush your hair from the scapt down, so it spreads the oil onto the rest of your hair.
- When you do wash, use quality products. I am loving Hair Food Nourishing Collection with Coconut Milk & Chai Spice. The sulfate free nourishing collection (Shampoo, Conditioner, Hair Mask) contains a recipe that hydrates hair to leave it soft, smooth and shiny as well as protecting it from future damage.
What are some of the tips you have when it comes to keeping healthy hair? I’m up for a conversation – particularly after my hair has changed after three babies and many different styles.
